{ Christmas Morning Wife Saver }

Serves: 6-8

Ingredients:

     16 slices white bread (crust removed) Texas toast works well
     slices Canadian back bacon or ham
     slices sharp cheddar cheese (grated also works well)
     6 eggs
     1/2 tsp salt
     1/2 tsp pepper
     1/2 to 1 tsp dry mustard
     1/4 cup minced onion
     1/4 cup green pepper, finely chopped
     1 - 2 tsp worcestershire sauce
     3 cups whole milk
     dash tabasco
     1/4 lb butter
     crushed Special K or Corn Flakes

1.  In a 9"x13" buttered, glass baking dish, place 8 pieces of bread, or to cover bottom completely

2.  Cover bread with thinly sliced back bacon

3.  Lay slices of cheddar on top of bacon

4.  Create another layer of bread

5.  In a bowl, beat eggs, salt and pepper.  Add dry mustard, onion, green pepper, worcestershire sauce, milk and tabasco.

6.  Pour over bread, bacon and cheese layers.

7.  Cover and let stand in fridge overnight.

8.  In the morning, melt butter and drizzle over top.

9.  Cover with crushed cereal

10. Bake uncovered for one hour at 350.  Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

11. Serve with fresh fruit and/or hot cinnamon rolls.
